Grandfather Laurel Park
Artist's Notes: I have always been fascinated by some of the watercolor skies achieved by the old British masters...and contemporary masters like Ron Ranson. While skies can be minimally planned, the occasional good one seems to come to fruition mostly of its own accord with only a little guidance. I like the atmospheric feeling of this piece showing the slopes and ridges of Grandfather from Laurel Park Road in Blowing Rock and of course, the sky is our lead character.
