Our giclees are produced 'in house' meaning that we are in control of the entire process from image capture to printing. Thus, we are able to ensure a reproduction that meets our approval through every step of the process. The archival materials and inks used are disclosed on each print beside our watermark and every reproduction is proofed, then signed by the artist.

The word 'giclee' refers to a reproduction of an original work of art created using digital imaging and the latest inkjet printing technology. When done well, the resulting reproduction can be difficult to distinguish from the original artwork. An additional advantage is being able to print the image on media very similar to that used for the painting. This results in a print that is highly detailed and rich with color. The very nature of inkjet technology is especially conducive to the reproduction of watercolor originals.
Giclee reproductions are high quality and affordable alternatives to owning an original that may no longer be available. Bear Trail will replace any giclee at no charge within one year of purchase if accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity and proof of purchase. Any problems arising after this time will be addressed at our discretion. If cared for properly, we expect your reproduction to last many years without any noticeable discoloration or fading. Please follow the guidelines below to ensure the longest lifespan for your image:
- do not hang in direct sunlight, even if exposure is very limited
- do not hang in areas of high humidity or extreme temperature fluctuations
- do not hang in areas exposed to chemicals or gases
- always frame using archival materials and UV glass
